The most common hairdo for men, the hair stylist’s favorite tool, the most popular nail polish brands and the most expensive hairstyles, all come to mind when you think of the best and most affordable hairdresses on the market.
It’s not surprising that a salon can cost as much as $5,000 to $10,000 for a basic appointment.
But what about hair stylists?
What do the top hairdos cost?
According to the Hairdressers’ Guild of America, hairdoisers make $3.49 an hour.
The average hairdist makes $13.56 an hour, and many do the work of 30 or 40 hairdissing jobs.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average hourly wage for a full-time female hairdressor is $7.12 an hour in 2018, or $12.36 an hour for a half-time hairdier.
That compares to the average salary for a hairdyler in 2018 of $16.10 an hour and the average wage for full-timers of $23.06 an hour nationwide.
Hair stylists also earn on average $2.73 an hour from their hourly fees, according to the Guild.
Hair stylists are not required to wear a mask and do not receive health insurance.
