Jays hairdressers in shock after father shot in head
Three men have been arrested after a father shot his son in the head with a gun in a home in Sydney’s south-west, police say.
Jayson Allen, 41, has been charged with murder and has been remanded in custody, the ABC understands.
Police say Mr Allen was found dead at the home in North Ryde in the early hours of Monday.
A 47-year-old man and a 49-year old man have been charged over the killing.
Officers were called to the home at 4:45am on Monday morning and found the father and son dead in the kitchen, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
The 41-year of North Ryder Road has been taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition, the Herald reported.
Witnesses told the newspaper they had seen the father shoot his son at close range.
He then fired a single shot into the air before turning to leave the home, police said.
It is believed Mr Allen had been drinking with friends when he went to the property to visit his family.
“He has not been drinking or smoking,” a neighbour told the Sydney Mercury.
Neighbours described the father as being in his early 50s.
An arrest warrant for the father was issued on Monday, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.
Mr Allen’s wife, Kaitlyn, was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police have said.
